Our Story

USA Health Insurance began over 25 years ago by Ted Officer.

Ted entered the insurance industry in 1988 with John Hancock Life as an agent. Ted
learned the insurance business and earned the designation of certified financial
planner. Ted established himself as an independent agent in 1996 with an emphasis
on individual health insurance. Ted was one of the first agents in Atlanta to focus
solely on individual health. Primary carrier for first 10 years was Kaiser Permanente
and Ted lead in individual sales for nearly all ten years. During the first 10 years Ted
was also a leading agent with BCBSGA for five years.

In 2007, Ted reinvented his business and established a national internet presence
through USA-HealthInsurance.com with clients nation wide. Ted is now a leading
producer for Centene, Humana and Kaiser Permanente. Licensed in 44 states, Ted
is has transformed his business from a traditional local agency to a national internet
marketing company.

Health reform has presented many opportunities and USA Health plans has changed
to align with the current market. Ted’s spouse Sally McPherson joined the business
in 2016 and has lead the agency into group sales. Sally wrote over 65 groups during
Q4 2017. In addition, the agency has a significant block of Medicare and short term

Ted and his wife Sally run the daily operations of USA Health Insurance. They reside in Metro Atlanta and have six children.  When they are not helping you find the best coverage, you can find them playing golf and tennis.
